What began as an opportunity to create a logo became an obsession with inspiring a city.

Like many small Midwestern towns, Muncie’s downtown area is defined by beautiful historic buildings and a proud, rich history. But since the 1970’s — as commerce flocked to the suburbs — the heart of the city fell into disrepair as businesses left and commerce halted.

Intersection set a social movement in action to instill pride in, and change the perception of, Downtown Muncie. The movement was supported by a film series, a DWNTWN logo, messaging, social media, mass media strategies and plenty of ooh’s and aah’s to get people talking.

DWNTWN is now in its third iteration of the campaign — The Next Muncie. This campaign emphasizes that Muncie's past has helped shape, but not define its future. The entrepreneurs' businesses are flourishing and pride radiates from those who live, work and play in DWNTWN Muncie.
