GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Summary

The Graphic Designer applies art, design, and copy layout skills to deliver high-quality design work based on current trends and industry standards in a collaborative environment. The role works with clients in many industries on a variety of design needs, including logos, web pages, ads, social media graphics, e-books, infographics, presentations, and more.

You have a desire to make great things happen for other people. You understand how to “catch lightning” and create meaningful visual experiences to advance client brands and deliver on a rich customer experience. You have a key role in shaping the design of not only our current offerings but new services as well.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create high-quality design work demonstrating strong fundamentals of design.

  2. Own your clients’ visual brands to ensure consistent execution across all tactics.

  3. Create, design, and reformat graphics and content for web pages.

  4. Translate strategy from a project or creative brief into creative and engaging designs.

  5. Effectively lead design discovery and presentation calls and defend the rationale of your designs.

  6. Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications, time, and budget restrictions.

  7. Produce proofs for client review and make revisions based on feedback received.

  8. Prepare print orders and assembly instructions on notification of final approval.

  9. Assist with maintaining the Intersection’s design portfolio and ensure all final art files are cataloged and archived.

  10. Conduct design research to learn new subjects or industry trends.

  11. Practice your craft and build your brand by contributing to Intersection’s marketing activities.

  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or other similar design software.

  • Strong work ethic with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear manner.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as a member of a team.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.

  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress & Squarespace is preferred.

  • Related work experience highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
