Brand enthusiast Lyn Whitesell has spent more than 20 years turning big ideas into smart, memorable brands. She started her career by falling in love with print design—embossments, die cuts, and tactile coatings that demand to be felt. But Lyn isn’t just drawn to texture; she’s drawn to emotion. In her design work and fine art alike, she tells deeply human stories, fueled by a love of humanity and a commitment to elevating voices that are too often ignored, helping shape a world where those voices matter.
As graduate of Ball State University with a BFA in Graphic Design, Lyn’s career has zigged and zagged in all the right ways—landing her art and creative director roles across agency and corporate worlds. In 2020, she took a sharp turn into academia, becoming an associate professor at Ball State University and launching the School of Art’s first Brand Storytelling course in the Visual Communication department. From 2022 to 2025, Lyn brought that same storytelling mindset to Accutech as Marketing and Brand Manager, leading creative and brand strategy for Cheetah and Moneytree, a financial planning solution.
Along the way, her work has picked up some shiny hardware—AAF ADDY Awards (including eight Best of Shows, a National ADDY, and the Silver Medal given as a prestigious lifetime achievement honor from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) for individuals who've significantly advanced the industry, community, and advertising standards), GDA USA Awards, Hermes Awards, IBA Maxi Awards, the ICBA National Marketing Award, honors from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing, and the College Sports Information Directors of America Excellence Award.
Since 2005, Lyn has exhibited her mixed-media fine art regionally and globally. She’s participated in the Indiana Governor’s Arts Awards, been named a Hoosier Women Artist, and received two Indiana Arts Commission Individual Artist Grants for her explorations in digital transfers. Her art also appears in INCITE – The Best of Mixed Media, including Incite 3: The Art of Storytelling and Incite 4: Relax. Restore. Renew.
Lyn lives in Hartford City, Indiana, with her high-school-sweetheart husband, Dennis, and their two smushy-faced dogs—Argo Eames the boxer and Sister Agnes the English bulldog.
