Culture Index: Socializer
As content director at Intersection, Nick helps guide messaging that delivers results for clients. He’s passionate about communicating persuasively and clearly, with as few words as possible — even if in his personal life he has a tendency to be a chatterbox.
Raised on a cattle farm in southern Indiana, Nick came to Muncie to attend Ball State and never left, falling in love with the community’s history, charming downtown, and cultural opportunities. He gives back by chairing the Soup Kitchen of Muncie’s marketing committee (having previously served as a board member and VP), by serving in leadership positions at High Street United Methodist Church, and by volunteering both in the Muncie Mission kitchen and for the local chapter of Quail Forever.
Nick started his career in journalism, spending almost a decade covering crime and politics as a newspaper reporter before transitioning to public relations and marketing. He has worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Outdoor Indiana magazine, Ball State University, and Accutech Systems.
At home, Nick is married with a daughter and a son. He owns a garage so full of fishing rods, bicycles, boots, sleeping bags and enough outdoor gear that he could outfit a Boy Scout troop for a weekend and have still have supplies left over. His passion for the outdoors is rivaled only for his passion to meet new people, with the lifelong goal of learning everyone’s name in East Central Indiana.
